First we want to send out our good wishes for your health and safety, your families, your communities and if you are ill or caring for someone who is ill, we send our compassion and strength  I’m not sure how it is for you, but during these extraordinary tines,  I find the ability to take one moment at a tine from my meditation practice, I can handle it with a great more ease. This doesn’t gloss over difficulties, but gives me a way to hold them with more groundedness and balance.  Chances are that if you are reading this you’ve taken a   class with one of us, or several! Apologies if you are on more than one listJ) Some of you have sat one or more residential retreats  with us.  Whether we’ve actually met you or not, it’s important to know despite the necessary and compassionate, physical distancing; the heart knows no boundaries. Love and connection don’t know physical distancing. We are connected. I invite you take a moment and imagine the circle you once sat in, the people practicing mindfulness meditation, Yoga and Qiong with you,  singing with you;- whether you knew them or not, you shared an experience that unites us all, Even in the silent meals we may have shared together  we connected and we still are. You can take your next mindful bite with a sense of our class, or  our retreat community sharing food all together. Feel into Friendship As we witness such deep and painful division in our society, it is more important than ever to remember that we are all interconnected.

There is also good chance you haven’t heard from us for a while…just when we thought we might be having a very quiet time, we became busier than we imagined.

Hugh has been teaching 100s’ of people Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Programs at no cost to participants. (We will be back to our usual fees by fall)  We’re meeting the needs of stressed out corporations and non-profits, And we are spending a lot of time on The People of Color MBSR Teacher training we’re Involved in through the UCSD Mindfulness Based Professional Training  Institute (This cohort is full with a long waiting list). We are deeply committed to this project and are grateful for the  time we have spent serving the underserved and more diverse populations who aren’t showing up in MBSR classes in numbers we’d like to see, it is a dream come true  to have been graced by this grant which is from a small foundation and  through the UCSD MBPTI.

A lot of you have been reaching out for an update on what we have available so I have included our upcoming retreats above , .In the fall we’ll be offering 8 week Mindful Self Compassion and MBSR programs.
